This year, the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day parade is scheduled to start downtown at 10am on March 16th. As always, you will be entertained by Irish dancers, bagpipes, marching bands, and local celebrities. After the parade, head over to City Plaza for the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. Live music will be performed on the City Plaza stage, with Irish Dancing entertainment happening on the courthouse steps. Like most events here, there will be food truck vendors, beer vendors, and plenty of activities for the kids!
If you are looking for an adults only event, this is the one for you! Hosted by Milk Bar, located in Glenwood South, this event goes from 12 – 9pm on March 16th. Live music begins at 1pm and will include everything from local DJ’s to amazing local bands. Beer tents will be set up and Southern Charred will be selling their delicious BBQ. Proceeds will benefit CASA – Helping to empower individuals experiencing poverty and disability by providing affordable, permanent housing in the Raleigh area for 20 years. This event has a strict 21 and up policy.
Do you prefer a more structured event? Bar Crawl Live’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl might be perfect for you. ‘Week of’ tickets are still available, and if it’s your birthday week you can get a free ticket! There are six local venues on the itinerary, with the kickoff party starting promptly at 2pm at Noir. DJ’s will provide music entertainment at each location, and professional photographers and videographers will be there to document the fun. Wear your St. Patrick’s Day best – there are several costume prizes! This event is 21 and up.

We are really excited to check out the Scriptorium, where you can learn to write with a quill pen, and to play the outdoor historic games on the lawn. Kids will love gathering clues and treasure throughout the Village as part of the Irish Quest.
